As with many African American patients, those of Asian heritage often have a low bridge themselves. They also display an overly wide nasal tip that lacks tip projection. Cartilage grafting techniques are utilized to augment the nasal bridge.

Most African American patients seek ethnic rhinoplasty to address three major concerns with the appearance of the nose. The typical patient is unhappy with a low nasal dorsum (bridge), bulbous (round) nasal tip lacking definition, and overly wide nostrils. When addressing the typical African American nose, many surgical techniques are utilized to address and correct these concerns. The low nasal bridge can be raised with the addition of cartilage grafts. Typically, cartilage can be taken from other areas of the nose, such as the nasal septum, to be used as grafting material. Cartilage from either the ear or rib can also be used if the quantity or quality of the septal cartilage is unsatisfactory. Placement of these cartilage grafts on the nasal dorsum helps to create a more natural and well-defined nasal bridge. The overly bulbous nasal tip can be refined and slimmed with several techniques. Cartilage reshaping, tip sutures, and tip grafts will help to improve the overall appearance of the nasal tip. Lastly, overly wide nostrils can be surgically reduced to decrease the width of the nose. Middle Eastern Rhinoplasty

Middle Eastern patients tend to seek ethnic rhinoplasty for a number of concerns. Middle Eastern patients seek to reduce the overall size of the nose so it is in better balance with the rest of the face. Middle Eastern patients seek to reduce ptotic (droopy) nasal tips. They also seek to reduce the appearance of an overly wide nose. Anatomic characteristics specific to patients of Middle Eastern descent exist, which leads to these cosmetic flaws.
