What dermal Fillers are utilized for liquid rhinoplasty?
Hyaluronic Acid based fillers including Restylane and Juvederm.
What types of nasal issues does non-surgical rhinoplasty address?
The main use of injectable fillers in the nose is to camouflage the profile (dorsal) hump by either filling below and/or above the hump or to augment a flat nose. In patients with ethnic noses, it can be a great tool to help define their nasal bridge. For patients with a hump, filling around the hump will give the illusion that the nose and hump is smaller. Non-surgical rhinoplasty is also beneficial for smoothing out nasal imperfections like dents and for fixing minor symmetry issues. If a patient has had too much of their nasal dorsum taken down during a previous surgical rhinoplasty, a liquid rhinoplasty can correct this problem. Non-surgical rhinoplasty is also an excellent tool to smooth out any small irregularities that may be present from prior surgical rhinoplasty.
How do I know if I am a candidate for liquid or non-surgical rhinoplasty?
To determine whether or not you are an ideal candidate for a liquid rhinoplasty, schedule a consultation at the South Jersey office of Dr. Anthony Corrado. Dr. Corrado is an extremely skilled nasal surgeon, and after a thorough consultation, he will be able to tell patients if they are eligible for the procedure.
Is this procedure going to impact my breathing?
The non-surgical rhinoplasty procedure will not affect breathing as the injections are superficial and will not change the nasal cavity. If you currently have breathing issues, you may be a candidate for a functional rhinoplasty procedure, which can be discussed during your consultation with Dr. Corrado as well.
Are the injections painful?
This is not typically a painful procedure, though pain tolerance varies by patient. The tip of the nose and the nostrils are tender areas, however, Dr. Corrado has several methods of pain control including the use of a blunt tip cannula (needleless injection technique), designed to cause much less damage to the tissue of the skin as opposed to a needle injection.
